PopUp Campsites and Covid 19

Covid19 and keeping you safe

Hello campers, we are all ready to break free, and at Pop Up we have been busy making it safe for you to do just that. We are reducing the amount of campers by 50% giving larger pitches space between you all. This does mean that the River is currently over subscribed, and we will be offering alternative dates or campsite. Please take a look at the booking system before you chose your dates.

If you are groups and wish to remain as such please call us so we can offer you the safest positions.

Below you will find some of the changes taking place:

The secret Campsite changes

  • Increased pitch sizes 6 metres + this will mean we under sell approx 50%.
  • More mobile toilets and showers.
  • Gloves will be placed by wheel barrel points.
  • Mobile hand washing stations with soap dotted across the site close to pitch spaces and facilities.
  • Cleaning equipment will also be left in each toilet and shower cubicle for extra piece of mind.
  • Hand sanitiser across the site and by gateways.
  • Push button or Lever taps on all water points.
  • Checkin will now be done remotely, with allocation maps and all balances for wood and fire pits taken before arrival.
  • We have been moving fences so you can park extremely close to pitch spaces to unload gear.
  • Creating more car parks closer to pitching so less use for wheelbarrows and equally less congestion by carling spaces.

The River campsite changes

  • Increased pitch sizes 6 metres + this will mean we under sell approx 50%.
  • 10 direct River side pitches have now been added to the booking system, this area comes with wcs/shower/water points.
  • We are building seperate “IN and “OUT” steps for your safety .

We are also in the unique position that we can divide the campsites up and offer larger pitches and compartmentalise the group areas to be more self sufficient with facilities. We have started making more mobile showers and hand washing stations, and will endeavour to give more Toilets per people on site.

So please look out for our changes on instagram and on the website it’s self.
If you are booked in for May, June and 3-5th July please check the website for alternative dates and follow the link below filling out the form.

Our policy explained – survival of a small business

Pop up campsites is a small business operating two small campsites with modest margins. The majority of our expenses are incurred prior to a camper’s arrival. Most of the remaining expenses occur irrespective of a camper’s stay. We have been advised that our business insurance does not cover this unusual and unprecedented set of circumstances we find ourselves in. In response to the situation we are opting to move stays or provide a camping credit for guests affected by the coronavirus. We have taken this action as we believe it is fair minded and will allow us survive into the future.

We trust our campers have travel/holiday insurance to personally cover any losses in the case of cancellation. It is with regret that we, as a small business, cannot provide you with insurance or cover in full any of your financial losses.

I do hope you understand our circumstances. We remain committed to our staff and guests. We will work towards opening the campsites at a later date and to provide beautiful settings to ‘escape on a little adventure’ – needed even more in these times.

Thank you for all of your support – together we will move forward to a brighter future.

Stay safe.
